Mexico Beach, FL Mexico Beach Real Estate | Homes for Sale in Mexico Beach, FL

The Unforgettable Coast of Mexico Beach

A true slice of paradise.

If small-town beach communities are your vibe, look no further than Mexico Beach. With a population of less than 2,000, this Bay County city was discovered around 1941 but began slowly but surely growing into the beach community it is today after World War II.

After being hit by Hurricane Michael in 2018, Mexico Beach and other communities in Panama City have worked hard to recover and rebuild, and continued progress is being made as businesses continue to open and reopen. Real estate in Bay County is hot again, with several Mexico Beach homes for sale.

Get Out and Explore Mexico Beach

With five miles of beaches in Mexico Beach, it should be no surprise that most activities involve water. You can dive, snorkel, or swim among natural and shipwreck sites. Fishing for grouper, pompano, Red Snapper, and Spanish Mackerel is also fun. Some enjoy kayaking or paddling through Wakulla Springs or Dead Lake.

But one thing that makes Mexico Beach unforgettable is the pristine white sand derived from white quartz crystals. Another thing is the diverse ecosystem found at Mexico Beach. You can explore sugar-white beaches, marshy swamps, brilliant springs, and grassy savannas- all within just a few miles!

Mexico Beach is also home to hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife, including American Alligators, Black Bears, Dolphins, Fiddler Crabs, Florida Manatees, Monarch Butterflies, River Otters, and five species of Sea Turtles.

If hiking and exploring nature are more up your alley, Ecofina River State Park has more than 4,000 acres for you to enjoy by bike, on foot, through the water, or a combination of the three! St. George’s Island State Park is another option, with a 3.5-mile bicycle path, a one-mile and 2.5-mile hiking trail, geocache sites, and an observation platform for stargazers to admire the stars and planets at night.

Additionally, you can ride horses on the beach at Cape San Blas and survey nature and history at St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge,

Mexico Beach Shopping and Dining Possibilities

Several shops and boutiques in Mexico Beach sell anything from clothing to artwork to sweets and everything in between. Dining options include devouring seafood at Killer Seafood or Shell Shack, feasting on Floribbean food and sipping cocktails at Mango Marley’s, or chowing down on hot dogs at the seasonal food truck Bird Dogs.

Other events and activities include Pickleball tournaments every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the pickleball courts near the City Hall. The Mobile Library visits Mexico Beach residents monthly so they can borrow and return audiobooks, books, and DVDs. And you won’t want to miss the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Parker Park.
